EYESON COMES THROUGH FOR CALIFORNIA JEWELER |
For DJ’s Jewelry of Woodland, CA, the eyeson digital surveillance and management system not only provided
security and peace of mind, but it also helped the company save money and preserve customer relationships.
Since installing the 16-camera system in 2003, DJ’s owner Jon Huffine identifies three incidents where the system "saved"
the store:
- During a hectic Christmas season, the company couldn’t find a critical shipment of loose stones. The stones had been
put in a secure location and then moved to the safe, but nobody could find them. With the help of eyeson, Huffine
was able to track down when and where the package came in, and when and where it was put in the safe. The package was
actually hidden by a letter inadvertently placed on top of the package.
- One of Huffine’s best customers thought she dropped off two items for repair, but the store only had a record of one
item. He was prepared to pay for the "missing" gold bracelet to preserve the relationship with the customer. With his
eyeson system, he was able to review the transaction that clearly showed her dropping off a single item. Huffine
showed her the footage of her visit, which convinced her that the store was not at fault.
- A customer came in and paid for some merchandise with forged checks. Huffine was able to burn a CD from his eyeson
file, which gave a clear picture of the suspect’s face. He then gave the CD to the police and the local news station. As it
turns out, the suspect had stolen someone’s identification and checks and was writing bad checks all over Northern California.
The eyeson system helped police identify the suspect.
Huffine says he researched other surveillance systems before settling on eyeson. He chose eyeson mainly because of its
superior features, including the ability to save video files to a computer and burn CDs. He also takes advantage of the system’s
infrared capability, which allows you to monitor locations even in the dark.
Huffine is so pleased with the system’s performance that he recommends eyeson to other jewelers. He even bought one of the
systems for his home. "If the kids are home by themselves, it removes any doubt about who’s at the door, and the infrared
system let’s them see who’s there at night," he says. "I can also watch the house remotely when I’m not there. It’s a wonderful
system." |
