ROSENTHAL INTRODUCES DASHBOARD, A CUTTING-EDGE CONTROL PANEL, MONITORING AND SALES ANALYSIS TOOL FOR SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMSMIAMI, FL (July 12, 2005) — "Dashboard" is the latest example of Rosenthal Jewelers Supply Corp.’s commitment to providing technological solutions to retail jewelers. Dashboard is a cutting-edge, Web-based master control panel that allows users to remotely monitor their surveillance system’s performance status down to the individual camera. It also can pull up and analyze a store’s sales data in a variety of ways.
Rosenthal, the exclusive U.S. jewelry and pawn shop distributor of Dashboard, finished developing the sophisticated, innovative system earlier this year and recently introduced it to the jewelry market. The product has been designed specifically with the retail jeweler and manufacturing bench jeweler in mind.
The Dashboard system easily ties into Rosenthal’s revolutionary eyeson digital surveillance and management system, as well as other existing camera security systems. Retailers can log onto the server’s Web site, and quickly check the status of every camera in their store or multiple stores. A green symbol indicates that all cameras are functioning properly. A red symbol indicates that the system is not recording. A yellow symbol indicates that a single camera is not working.
"When you buy a surveillance system, there is no way of knowing if every camera is working or if the system is recording properly unless the tape breaks," explains Raphael Adouth, President of Rosenthal Jewelers Supply. "Dashboard records the heartbeat of your surveillance system. It lets you view the status of every camera, and tells you if the system is working. It also can generate an e-mail or text message to let you know if a device is not functioning properly."
Not only can Dashboard report the working status of the surveillance system; it also allows retailers to remotely track and analyze every transaction in their store or stores. Through Dashboard, retailers can look at hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly sales. They can track sales by product, by salesperson, by register, or by the type of transaction. Retailers can analyze how sales are trending throughout the day; how many items have been sold; how many customers have come into the store at a given time period; how much they have spent; the average transaction; and other key sales indicators.
Dashboard also gives retailers the unparalleled ability to pull up and view exceptions reports, which indicate how many voids, "no sales," discounts, refunds and coupons were recorded each hour. This information can be critical. A pattern of voided sales transactions could indicate an internal theft issue, where an employee gives the customer the merchandise, takes the money, but voids out the sale and pockets the cash after the customer leaves the store.
"If you are an owner on a trip, and you want to see what’s going on in your store or stores, Dashboard allows you to review every transaction without having to call anybody," Adouth notes. "It’s also an excellent internal forensic security tool for uncovering internal theft, which is the single greatest loss prevention issue that retailers face on a daily basis."
