For Jon’s Fine Jewelry of Cocoa, FL, the eyeson surveillance and management system has proven to be a superior
security system. It even helped catch and prosecute a robber.
About three years ago, the store was the target of an armed robbery. According to Rod Reiner, the company’s long-time bench
jeweler, the quality of the video tape "didn’t help at all" in identifying the suspects; nor was the camera placement very
helpful. After researching the market, store owner Jon Miller decided to go with eyeson.
The move paid off. The store was robbed again, but this time, the retailer got a clear video identification of the suspect
through eyeson, which helped police catch him. The video evidence presented by Jon’s Fine Jewelry also helped authorities
prosecute the suspect.
"If you are home and the alarm goes off, you can check out the store from your computer without even having to come in," said
Reiner. "You can tell right away if it’s a false alarm or a burglary."
Reiner particularly likes the fact that eyeson allows him to constantly monitor the bench area. He can also zoom in on
a specific area of the case and quickly bring up all activity associated with that area. He no longer has to sit through 24 hours
of images to get to the footage he needs. "We can bring up all the images of just that area in case we want to look at any
suspicious faces or activity," he says.
